Tigers gain verbal commitment from Kellen Hampton
6'6" wing from Southern California regarded as a 3-star prospect by most services
Pacific Tigers have earned their first public verbal commit for the Class of 2025 in 6’6” wing Kellen Hampton, who played this past season at Southern California Academy in Castaic, CA (just north of Los Angeles) but for his senior season is expected to return to Moreau Catholic in Heyward, CA (San Francisco area) where he played his freshman and sophomore seasons. Hampton’s tape shows off a very solid all-round game getting to the rim, knocking down open 3’s and using his length and strength on the glass at both ends.
Hampton played AAU ball this past summer for Team Lillard.
He also participated in the adidas All-American Camp and Damian Lillard Formula Zero Elite Camp in 2023.
Coach Smart: “Kellen is a strong wing who can shoot it and also score around the rim. He handles it solidly and works hard on the glass. Offensively, he projects as someone who can be a matchup problem for opponents - he’s my kind of offensive player.”
Hampton chose to verbal to Pacific over offers from Washington State, Arizona State, California, Creighton, Mississippi State, St. John's, and San Francisco. According to On3, he is ranked 218th nationally and 25th in the state of California.
